| Why
does Harvest meet in a movie theater? We want to take "church" outside of the four walls, into the marketplace and community to impact more lives for Christ. We also want to offer a safe environment for those who may not feel comfortable coming to a church building. How is the Harvest @ 5 service different from the Rave service? The only significant difference: we have more time for ministry, including making prayer teams available during the service. However, the worship and the message are NOT a "repeat" of the Rave meeting. What does Harvest offer for me and my family? Harvest has incredible ministries for children, youth, and beyond, as well as opportunities to serve and get connected into community. Check out our aptly named "get connected" page for more. How can I get connected? Use the connect card in each Sunday's bulletin to share information about yourself and get information about the items listed. Come to a Newcomers Coffee (held once every 4 months, check event calendar). However, you don't have to wait for that to join one of our community groups. You can find all the info about them on the "community" page under "get connected." How is the church governed and organized, and who is our covering? 1) Teaching Pastors govern the doctrine of our church. 2) Financial Board oversees the legal and financial decisions. 3)Overseers oversee the care of the people 4) Management Team oversees the day to day, week to week activities and programs of the life of our church. Francis Martin, retired pastor of Family Life Church in Lafayette, LA, provides outside covering and support if needed beyond our internal government. What does the "concert style" worship at Harvest mean for me? First of all, we don't take worship lightly at Harvest. In fact, one of our seven core values is "Vibrant, Christ-centered" worship. So concert style does not equate to spectating! We do use a full band, and we do keep the house lights low, but don't feel like you have to sit back and watch. Our focus is on Him (one reason you'll find we keep the house lights low--to avoid distractions). For more about the music and worship at Harvest, check out our "music" page. |
